MySkillMatch (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through our website and waitlist, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to visitors of myskillmatch.com and people who join our waitlist or contact us. When the MySkillMatch app launches, an in-app privacy notice may supplement this policy.

MySkillMatch is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@myskillmatch.com.

Waitlist signups: name, email address, whether you plan to hire, provide services or both, and optionally your city.

Contact form: name, email address, subject and message content.

Technical data: basic server and security logs (e.g. IP address, browser type, pages visited) when you use the site.

Cookies and local storage: we store your theme preference (light/dark), cookie consent choice, and whether you have seen our welcome splash. See section 8 for details.

To add you to our launch waitlist and send you early-access updates you signed up for.

To respond to contact form messages and support enquiries.

To operate, secure and improve the website.

To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal data.

Waitlist and contact data: your consent when you submit a form, and our legitimate interest in operating a pre-launch programme and communicating with interested users.

Technical logs and security: legitimate interest in keeping the site safe and reliable.

You may withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time by replying to a waitlist email or contacting us.

We use trusted processors to run the site and deliver email, including hosting providers and Resend (email delivery). These providers only process data on our instructions and for the purposes described in this policy.

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of MySkillMatch, our users or others.

Waitlist entries are kept until you ask us to delete them or until they are no longer needed for launch communications, after which we delete or anonymise them within a reasonable period.

Contact form messages are kept as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a limited period for record-keeping.

Server logs are retained for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

Essential storage: theme preference, cookie consent status and first-visit splash state are stored in your browser’s local storage to improve your experience.

We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies on this website. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy and our cookie banner before doing so.

You can clear local storage through your browser settings. Declining non-essential cookies (when offered) will not block use of the site.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, object to certain processing, or lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, email privacy@myskillmatch.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

MySkillMatch is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be highlighted on the website where appropriate.
